Learning happens year round at Bayhill!  For those students and parents who are seeking a unique learning experience beyond the classroom Bayhill has develop a series of workshops for students that run on Saturday mornings and each week of the Summer Holidays.  

Writing Workshops:

Writing Wonders Primary
This dynamic workshop designed for students in grades 2 to 3 introduces the elements necessary for effective writing.  Writing Wonders Primary begins by introducing students to the writing process by exposing them to activities that involve planning and brainstoriming before writing, the development of proper sentence structure, paragraphs and much more! 

Writing Wonders Junior
This interactive workshop introduces junior level students to the 5 paragraph persuasive essay! Beginning with the elements of a paragraph, the types of paragraphs found within an essay and culminating in the completion of an essay that effectively argues and persuades, this workshop is a must have for students who are seeking an unique writing experience beyond the classroom. 

Writing Wonders Intermediate
Designed for proficient writers at the grade 8 to 10 level, our Writing Wonders Intermediate Workshop takes students with exceptional writing skills and develops them through writing activities that include researching, planning and writing a variety of essay types.


Math Workshops:

Math Maniacs Primary
A fun and interactive workshop aimed at students in the primary grades, Math Maniacs takes a students' basic understanding of mathematics and stretches it beyond their wildest dreams!

Math Maniacs Junior
An innovative math workshop aimed at students in the junior grades with a desire to not only improve their understanding of mathematics but to master the key concepts and expand their knowledge.This workshop has been designed to go beyond solving textual questions and moves towards incorporating these mathematical ideas as they apply to real life!

Math Maniacs Intermediate
Created for true math lovers in the intermediate division, this workshop once again takes students beyond the expectations of the classroom and gives them a real insight to the wonder of mathematics!  Hands on, activity based learning combined with problem solving situations, students work through activities revolving around the 5 math strands.


Science Workshops:

Science Wonders
A fantastic hands on workshop where students will experience and learn about the wonderful world of science. Each day will incorporate a different science strand based on the Ministry Expectations for students in the junior grades.  Life Systems, Matter and Materials, Energy and Control, Structures and Mechanisms and Earth and Space are the 5 areas of study.  Students will build, analyze, observe and deduce as well as participate in a full day field trip!
